TORTILLA SOUP 
1 med. onion, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 lbs. stew meat, sirloin, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
5 oz. canned tomatoes and green chilies
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth, chicken broth
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
1 1/2 water
1 tsp. ground cumin and chili powder
1/2 tsp. lemon pepper
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Tabasco sauce
Salt to taste
4 tortillas, cut in 1 inch strips
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese

1. Saute the first 5 ingredients.

2. Add remaining ingredients, except tortillas and cheese.

3. Simmer one hour. Add tortillas and cook 10 minutes more.

4. Pour into bowl or mugs and sprinkle with cheese. Serves 6 to 8.
