BANANA BREAD 
6 very ripe bananas
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins
2 c. flour

Mash bananas with potato masher (do not put in blender). Add baking soda, water, sugar, eggs and butter; mix well. Set aside. Put flour and spices in another bowl. Add flour mixture to the bananas in 3 or 4 even amounts, mixing well after each addition. Add nuts and raisins.

Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 80-90 minutes. May be made in 2 loaf pans. Bake for 65-75 minutes. Freezes well.
