STEAK SOUP 
1 lb. ground round or 1 lb. beef, cubed
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. flour
1 lg. onion, or as desired
1 lg. carrot, diced
1 lg. stalk celery, diced
8 c. water
1 pkg. frozen vegetables
1 can tomato sauce or cooked tomatoes, chopped
4 tbsp. beef bouillon granules

Melt butter. Stir in flour and gradually. Add 2 cups water. Stir until smooth and add other ingredients except ground round. Brown meat and drain. Add to soup. Simmer for at least 1 1/2 hours or longer. Freezes well. Serves 12.
