THAT FAMOUS LADY'S CHOCOLATE
CHIP COOKIES
 
1 lb. butter, softened
2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla
3 eggs
6 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 c. chocolate chips
2 c. pecans, chopped

Cream together dark and white sugar and butter. Mix eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt, and soda. Add to butter mixture. Mix in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by small ice cream scoop on wax paper lined cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or bake at 250 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Cookies are softer when baked at the lower temperature for a longer span of time. Allow to cool on cookie sheet before removing. Do not reuse wax paper, change with each oven batch.

Makes 6 to 8 dozen.
