1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour
Flavoring; optional

Cream butter and sugar well. Add egg, then flour. You may add flavoring, if you like. Force mixture through a tube or a cookie press into various shapes. Bake for 8-10 minutes or less at 400 degrees. You may add anything on top.

These cookies are good if you like short bread.
