1 c. molasses
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 c. boiling water

Stir well together and then add the boiling water. The batter will be very thin.

Bake in a 350°F oven about 35 to 45 minutes.
