COCONUT DIAMONDS 
LAYER 1:
1/2 c. soft butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. flour

Cream together butter, sugar, salt, stir in flour. Pat dough into ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown.

LAYER 2:
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can coconut
1 c. broken walnuts

Beat eggs slightly; add vanilla, gradually, add 1 cup of brown sugar, beating just until blended. Add the flour and salt. Stir in coconut and walnuts. Spread over baked layer. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool. Cut in diamonds. Makes 2 dozen.
