1/2 lb. butter, Land 'O Lakes, room temperature
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar together, add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla then add flour, soda, salt and milk alternately. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 25 minutes. Makes 3 layers.
