HEARTY VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP 
1 1/2 - 2 lbs. lean ground beef
1-2 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tbsp. instant beef bouillon
1/2 tsp. pepper
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. basil
2 cans chicken broth
1 can beef bouillon
1 c. frozen chopped onions
1/4 c. raw rice
1 (20 oz.) bag frozen mixed vegetables
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce with tomato bits
1 (16 oz.) can stewed seasoned tomatoes

Brown beef and the onions together in skillet; drain fat. In large kettle, start cooking broth and rice. Add seasonings and water equal to the amount of broth; add beef. Bring to boil and cover and simmer gently for 1 hour. Add vegetables, tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to boil and then simmer for 10 minutes.
