1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (16 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. pecans

Prepare cake mix by package directions. Place half of batter in 13"x9" greased and floured baking dish or pan and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt together the caramels, butter and evaporated milk, stir in pecans and pour over first layer of cake. Then pour second half of batter on top and bake 20 minutes (or until cake springs back when touched). Cool thoroughly before cutting.
