GERMAN COLE SLAW | |
1 med. head cabbage, shredded 2 or 3 med. sized onions, sliced 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar 3/4 to 1 c. vinegar 3/4 to 1 c. salad oil 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. powdered mustard Layer cabbage and onions in salad bowl; sprinkle with sugar. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring. Pour boiling dressing over cabbage. Let stand until cool. Stir well. Refrigerate at least 6 hours before serving. |
