CINNAMON ROLLS | |
2 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk Mix flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar. Cut in shortening and milk. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick into rectangle 7 x 16 inches. Spread with 4 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle with a mixture of 1/4 cup sugar, 3 teaspoons cinnamon and raisins if desired. Roll tightly as for jelly roll. Grease pan. Bake at 425 degrees 15 minutes. Makes 16 rolls. GLAZE FOR CINNAMON ROLLS: 1 c. confectioners sugar 2 tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla Put confectioners sugar in bowl; moisten with 2 tablespoons milk. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Spread on while hot. |
