BEAN RANCHEROS 
3 c. pinto dry beans
1/4 lb. salt pork and ham hocks
2 dry red chilies
1/4 onion
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. ketchup

Sort beans and soak for 4 hours or overnight. Cook beans in the same water; bring to a hard boil for 20 minutes. Turn down to medium low. Add all ingredients, except ketchup. Add ketchup last. Cook 4 hours.
