Draw a simple design on paper. Using a toothpick, scratch the design into the cut side of the potato. Cut the area around your design down 1 1/4 inch. If you're making letters to print, draw them in the potato backwards. Dip stamp in ink pad. You can also use a sponge, cut into different shapes or a cork, cut in half.
