ROUND THE TABLE CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES

1 stick of butter
1 or 2 "big" globs of Crisco shortening using a big spoon
1 or 2 big scoopfuls of white sugar (using Mom's favorite coffee cup to measure)
Brown sugar, dump in about a cupful
3 eggs
1 dribble of vanilla
1 bag chocolate chips
1 sm. shake of baking soda into your hand. Squeeze out any clumps.
3 or 4 scoopfuls of flour

Put all the cooks around the table. Divide ingredients among the cooks. Toss in the shortening, butter, white and brown sugar first. Mix until blended. Next, dump in the eggs and vanilla and mix well. Finally, add the chips, flour and soda. Stir gently.

Bake a sample sheet of cookies at 350 degrees. If too runny, add another scoopful of flour and maybe a scoop or 2 of oatmeal to the remaining batter. If sample sheet is too thick, add an extra egg to the remaining batter.
