FRENCH CANADIAN CHEESE BREAD 
1 loaf French bread
1/2 lb. butter
1 c. chopped onions
2 tbsp. poppy seeds
1 tbsp. dry mustard
8 slices processed (4 x 4 inch) Swiss cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice 3/4 inch slices in the bread, not quite all the way through. Set on extra wide aluminum foil. In saucepan melt butter, blend in the onions, poppy seeds and mustard. Cut cheese slices in half to form triangles. Place 1 in each slice. Spoon butter mixture over top. Seal foil well. Bake 1/2 hour unwrapping to expose the top the last 10 minutes to brown.
