COCONUT POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
5 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. coconut flavoring
1 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. angel flake coconut

Cream sugar, Crisco, and eggs for 3 minutes. Add flavoring and buttermilk. Add flour and baking powder, but beat low until all is mixed, then add coconut.

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water

Boil 3 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring. Pour over cake while hot, let cool in pan for 1 hour. Turn right side up on plate.
