KNAFI BI JIBIN | |
1 lb. kataif dough (string dough) 1 lb. rendered butter CHEESE FILLING: 1/2 lb. ricotta 1/2 c. heavy cream 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg, beaten 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. syrup Spread 1/2 of the dough in a baking dish. Brush liberally with butter. Press down firmly. Pour filling in saucepan and cook until thickened, then pour cooled cheese filling over dough in the baking pan. Top with remaining dough. Butter thoroughly and press down. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes then raise temperature to 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, until golden brown. Remove and pour syrup over. Cut in square and serve warm. |
