1 stick butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour and milk. Add 1/2 cup hot water to melted chocolate. Put the other 1/2 cup of water and bring to a boil (this is important). To this add soda and add to chocolate mix. Pour chocolate mix into batter. Add vanilla. This cake batter will be thin. Bake in two layers or loaf pan at 325 degrees until done.
