HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
6-7 potatoes
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. vinegar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
5 slices bacon
1/4 chopped onion
Salt & pepper to taste

Cook potatoes in jackets; cool and slice into casserole dish. Cut up bacon in half inch pieces; brown with onion in frying pan. When bacon is browned well, add the water, vinegar, white sugar and cornstarch. Cook until thickened (may need to add a little more cornstarch). Pour thickened mixture over potatoes and put in oven 1/2 to 3/4 hour.
