PECAN PIE BARS 
Beat in large bowl until crumbly:

3 c. plain flour
1/4 c. & 2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. butter, softened
3/4 tsp. salt

Mixture will be dry. Press firmly into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch pan. Bake in preheated oven (350 degrees) until golden brown. Prepare filling and pour over baked layer, spreading evenly. Bake until filling is set, about 25 minutes. Cool and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.

FILLING:

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Karo syrup (light or dark)
3 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Mix all ingredients except nuts until blended. Add nuts and pour into prepared crust.
