CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE BARS
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1 c. finely chopped pecans
1/4 c. butter
1 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
3 beaten eggs
1 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla

In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon. Cut in the 1/2 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press into bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the 1/4 cup butter and chocolate; heat and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted. In small mixing bowl combine the eggs, brown sugar, water, and vanilla. Stir mixture until well blended; pour over crust. Return to oven. Bake 20 minutes more or until set. Cool on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes 36.
