PECAN PIE BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. plus 1/2 c. dark brown sugar, packed, divided
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. melted butter
2 lg. eggs, beaten
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, mix together flour and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. With fork, cut in 1/2 cup butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Put into ungreased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake 15 minutes.

Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over baked layer. Bake 20-25 minutes. Let cool, cut into 2 x 1 1/2 inch bars.
