Chewy Pumpkin Bars

This did not bake up in time indicated. I baked it 10 minutes more. The bottom crust turned out like cookie dough instead of crumbs, and puffs up when baked, so be careful spreading the pumpkin topping on. Perhaps softened butter instead of melted would have been better. I had to refrigerate the dough for a few minutes to make it less sticky. It tasted fine though. I would serve this with whip cream or ice cream.

I used half of cake mix with cold butter and 1/2 cup chopped nuts-baked for 15 minutes and it made a great crust. I followed the rest of recipe and it really made terrific bars -the guests loved them, thank you for posting, will use again!
