LOUISE'S CHILI 
2 tbsp. olive oil (or cooking oil)
1 lg. chopped onion
1 chopped green pepper
1 clove, minced
1 garlic, minced
1 lb. ground beef
1 (No. 2 1/2) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 to 2 tbsp. chili powder
3 whole cloves
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 (15 oz.) cans dark red kidney beans, drained

Cook onion, green pepper, and garlic until tender in oil. Add and cook ground beef until lightly browned. Remove excess fat; add other ingredients, except beans, and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add beans and heat thoroughly.
