WILTED LETTUCE SALAD 
1/2 lb. bacon
5-6 c. torn leaf lettuce
6 green onions & tops, diced
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. water
Salt & pepper to taste
3 hard cooked eggs, sliced (opt.)

Cook bacon until crisp; drain. Save 4 tablespoons bacon drippings in skillet. Place lettuce and onions in salad bowl.

To hot bacon drippings add vinegar, sugar and water; stir. Pour hot dressing over greens, crumble bacon pieces on top. Toss lightly once or twice covering all lettuce. Quickly arrange egg slices around outer edge of salad bowl and serve.
