TREASURE CHEST BARS 
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 c. maraschino cherries, drained
1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Sift together the dry ingredients. Cream together the sugars and butter, then blend in the eggs, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla and beat until fluffy. Alternately add dry ingredients with milk, ending with flour. Blend well.

Grease and flour two 9x9-inch pans or one 15x10x1-inch pan. Pour in dough and bake 25-30 minutes. Frost while warm with Brown Butter Cream Frosting (see index for recipe). Cool, then cut into bars to serve.
