FUDGE FROSTING 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate, cut up
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. white syrup
1/2 c. shortening

Stir and cover over low heat until chocolate and shortening are melted. Stirring constantly, bring rapidly to a full boil, and boil to 220 degrees or boil (exactly) 1 minute. Beat until lukewarm. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and continue beating until icing begins to lose its gloss. Takes a lot of beating. Can use electric mixer.
