CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1-3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. pkg. choc. chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, combine first 6 ingredients. Blend well. Stir in flour, salt and soda; blend well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Makes 48 cookies.
