MICROWAVE CARAMELS 
1 c. sweet butter; melted
2 1/3 c. brown sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 can Eagle Brand condensed milk
1/8 tsp. salt

Mix ingredients and microwave 2 minutes. Stir. Cook 12 more minutes stirring often. Add 1 tsp. vanilla and nuts if desired. Stir and cool 5 minutes before cutting.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
