OLD-FASHIONED CARAMEL PIE 
2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. thick sour cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. tart preserves (preferably damson)
3 eggs, separated
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Beat egg yolks and mix with all other ingredients except egg whites. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture. Bake in 2 pie shells.
