BROWN SUGAR POUND CAKE 
1 lb. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans

Mix together sugars. Cream butter and Crisco and add sugars gradually. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add sifted ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla. Stir in pecans. Turn into greased, floured tube pan. Bake for 45 minutes at 325 degrees; then reduce to 300 degrees and bake an additional 45 minutes longer. Dust pecans and pan with small amount of flour before sifting together with other ingredients.
