BROWNIES 
2 sticks butter
3 or 4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Bring butter, cocoa and water to a boil. Pour over sugar and flour. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and bake in greased, floured pan 45 minutes to 1 hour, in a 300 degree oven.

ICING FOR BROWNIES:

1 stick butter
3 or 4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. buttermilk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts (pecans), chopped (or 3 tbsp. peanut butter)

Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil. Remove from fire. Add remaining ingredients. Mix. Pour over hot cake. Let cool and cut. Do not try to stack.
