BRAZIL OR WALNUT SENSATION CAKE 
3 c. nuts, whole
1 lb. or more whole dates
A few cherries for color
3/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Line one 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan with paper. Sift dry ingredients over fruit and nuts. Mix with hands. Beat eggs foamy. Add vanilla. Stir into nut mixture. Bake in 300 degree oven about 1 hour and 45 minutes or until done. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove paper and cool thoroughly on rack and store in refrigerator for 5-6 weeks.
