ALWAYS ON HAND PIE CRUST | |
5 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 lb. lard 1 tsp. baking powder 1 egg, beaten Add water to about 1 c. more if needed Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in lard until crumbly. Add egg/water combination and mix until no more dry particles are present. Roll into 8 balls and freeze. To thaw, let stand a few hours at room temperature. May also be used right after mixing. |
