2 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. white Karo 1/2 c. water 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten 1 c. walnuts, chopped 1 tsp. vanilla Mix sugar, Karo and water. Boil to 232 degrees. Pour half the mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Boil remaining syrup to 254 degrees and pour over egg mixture, beating constantly. Beat until it stands in peaks, then add vanilla and nuts. Beat until a small amount dropped from teaspoon onto waxed paper holds its shape. Drop in this way until all is used. |
