DUMPLINGS FOR SOUP OR STEW 
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. water or milk
1 dessert spoon butter
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of spice

Mix dry ingredients together and rub in butter. Add liquid to make a soft dough. Drop by spoon into soup and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
