SALISBURY STEAK | |
1 lb. ground beef 1 c. dry bread crumbs 1 beaten egg 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. finely chopped celery 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion 1 can mushroom soup 1/2 c. water Combine meat, crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, onion and celery. Shape into 4 patties, about 1" thick. Brown both sides in a skillet. Combine soup and water. Pour around meat. Cook slowly in a covered skillet for 25 minutes. Soup and juices will make gravy without thickening. |
