MOLASSES-GINGER BARS 
Gingerbread-flavored bars dotted with raisins.

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg

In mixing bowl cream together softened butter and brown sugar until mixture is fluffy. Add molasses and egg; beat well.

1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. water
1/2 c. raisins
Powdered sugar

Thoroughly stir together flour, baking powder, ginger, salt, and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with water; mix well. Stir in raisins.

Pour mixture into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool thoroughly; sift powdered sugar over top. Cut into bars. Makes 36.
