WALNUT COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Carnation milk
2 eggs

Add:

1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Mix shortening, brown sugar, Carnation milk. Add soda and nuts. Then add sugars, vanilla, flour and salt. Chill one hour. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

FROSTING:

Heat 2 teaspoon butter until brown. Beat in 2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/4 cup Carnation milk. Sprinkle with finely crushed walnuts or 1/2 walnuts.
