BANANA NUT BARS 
2/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 egg yolks
2 med. bananas
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. sour cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
2 egg whites
Powdered sugar

Separate egg whites from yolks. Set yolks aside. Beat whites until fluffy and stiff. Set aside.

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg yolks and mashed bananas. Sift together flour, soda, and salt, and add to sugar mixture, alternating with sour cream. Add vanilla, mix well. Add nuts. Fold beaten egg whites into mixture last. Bake 45 minutes at 325 degrees in 9x13 pan. Cut in bars while warm, roll in powdered sugar.
