CARDAMOM CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. milk
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. ground cardamom

Cream butter. Add the sugar. Cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat vigorously. Sift the flour once. Measure. Re-sift twice with baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cardamom. Add flour to the creamed mixture (sugar) alternately with the milk, stirring after each addition just until blended. Pour batter into greased 8x12x2 pan and bake at 325 degrees F. for 40-50 minutes, or until cake tester (inserted in the center) comes out clean.
