CARAMEL FROSTING 
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
3 c. confectioners sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
3 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine brown sugar, salt and milk; put in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cook slowly for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla. Cool slightly. Add confectioners sugar. Beat until smooth or right spreading consistency. If too thick, add a few drops of milk. If too thin, add more confectioners sugar.
