BUTTERSCOTCH REFRIGERATOR
COOKIES (OVERNIGHT)
 
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or shortening
2 eggs
1/2 tbsp. baking soda
1/2 tbsp. cream of tartar
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nutmeats
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs. Mix in remaining ingredients. Divide dough into two equal parts. Shape each part into roll 1 1/2 inches in diameter and about 10 inches long. Wrap. Refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Cut rolls in 1/8 inch slices place about an inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degree oven until set 8 to 10 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
