SWEET POTATOES AND APPLES 
6 med. sweet potatoes
2 c. sliced apples
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
1/2 c. brown sugar

TOPPING:

Ground mace
Cinnamon
Maple syrup
Butter

Boil sweet potatoes until tender. Peel and slice 1/4" thick. Butter a casserole dish and place a layer of potatoes on the bottom. Sprinkle a dash of cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Place a layer of apples on top. Continue layering potatoes, spices and apples. Sprinkle the top layer of apples with the brown sugar, mace, cinnamon and a little maple syrup. Dot with butter and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour. Serves 6.
