HOT WATER CORN BREAD 
2 c. white corn meal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
2 - 3 c. boiling water
1/4 - 1/2 c. sweet milk
Crisco

Sift together dry ingredients. Add enough boiling water to make a stiff dough. Add 1/4 - 1/2 cup milk to cool and mellow the dough so you can form into thick or thin patties. Fry in hot Crisco until golden brown on each side. Serve hot.
