GRAMPA'S VINEGAR CANDY | |
This is my grandfathers age old recipe. My mother use to make it for our family in the winter. It is a fond memory of mine. Try it! It's better than it sounds. 2 cups sugar 1 cup apple cider vinegar In a saucepan bring the sugar and vinegar to a hard crack (300-310°F) on a candy thermometer. After it has hit the hard crack temperature and is boiling, pour it into a greased pan or one lined with wax paper. Let sit until it is just cool enough to touch. Form candy into various shapes. This is a great hard candy for sore throats. Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended. Submitted by: Jill Bovee |
