PECAN PRALINES 
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. butter
2 1/2 c. pecan halves

In large saucepan, combine sugar, soda, salt and buttermilk. Cook over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add butter and pecans. Continue to cook until candy reaches soft ball stage, 234 degrees. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Beat vigorously with spoon. Drop by spoonful onto wax paper and cool.
