BUTTER GEMS 
1 1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Apricot jam
Nuts

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add gradually flour and salt. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down center with thumb. Fill depression with apricot jam and sprinkle with finely chopped nuts. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
