ALWAYS GOOEY SHOOFLY PIE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 3/4 c. light brown sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. shortening
2 1/2 c. King syrup
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. hot water
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix flour, brown sugar and shortening. Remove 1 cup crumbs for topping. Mix baking soda in hot water. Add syrup, eggs and hot water to crumbs. Mix thoroughly. Pour into two 9 inch pie shells. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
